Understanding Your Dashboard — Orders, Usage & Settings

Dashboard overview

Your dashboard is where you manage everything after purchase — check order status, monitor data usage, view your QR code, and top up when needed.

Orders list

The main dashboard view shows all your orders sorted by date. Each order card displays:

  • Destination — the country or region
  • Plan details — data allowance and validity period
  • Order status — where the order is in processing
  • eSIM status — the current state of the eSIM profile

Tap any order to see its full details, including the QR code and usage information.

Order statuses explained

Your order moves through these stages after purchase:

StatusWhat it means
PendingPayment received, order is being created
ProcessingeSIM profile is being provisioned by the network
CompletedeSIM is ready — QR code available for download
FailedSomething went wrong — contact support@e-sim.onl

Most orders move from Pending to Completed within seconds. If your order stays in Processing for more than a few minutes, check your email or refresh the dashboard.

eSIM statuses explained

Once your order is Completed, the eSIM itself has its own lifecycle:

StatusWhat it meansWhat to do
Ready to InstallQR code is available, not yet scannedScan the QR code to install
InstallingProfile is downloading to your phoneWait for it to finish
ActiveeSIM is installed and workingYou’re connected — monitor usage
Data Used UpAll data consumed, plan still validTop up if supported, or buy a new plan
ExpiredValidity period has endedPurchase a new plan

Reading the data usage bar

Each active order shows a usage bar that visualizes how much data you’ve consumed:

  • Percentage used — shown as a filled bar (e.g. 45% used)
  • Remaining data — displayed in GB or MB next to the bar (e.g. “2.75 GB remaining”)
  • Expiry countdown — shows days or hours until the plan expires

Important: Usage data is synced from the network provider via webhooks and an hourly background sync. It can be up to 1 hour behind your actual consumption. Don’t rely on it for exact real-time tracking — if the bar shows 90%, you may have already hit 95%.

You’ll receive email alerts at 75% and 100% data consumption so you’re never caught off guard.

Viewing your QR code

From the order detail screen:

  1. Tap the order to open it
  2. The QR code is displayed directly on the page
  3. You can scan it from another device’s screen, or use the activation code (LPA string) shown below it for manual entry

The QR code is also cached offline on your device via IndexedDB, so you can access it even without an internet connection — useful if you need to reinstall while travelling.

Your QR code was also sent to your email immediately after purchase. Check your inbox (and spam folder) if you need it.

Activation code (manual install)

Below the QR code, you’ll find an activation code — also called an LPA string. This is for manual installation if you can’t scan the QR code:

On iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM
  2. Tap Enter Details Manually
  3. Paste the activation code

On Android:

  1. Go to Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add SIM
  2. Select Enter code manually (or “Need help?” on some devices)
  3. Paste the activation code

Expiry countdown

Each order shows a countdown to when your plan expires. Remember:

  • Validity starts from first data use, not from purchase
  • The countdown shows days remaining (or hours if under 24h)
  • Once expired, the eSIM status changes to Expired and data stops working
  • Expired plans cannot be topped up — you’ll need to buy a new one

Account settings

From the dashboard you can manage your account details:

  • Email address — where QR codes and usage alerts are sent
  • Order history — view past and current orders
  • Payment — payments are processed securely through Stripe; card details are not stored on our servers
